Hey, I've been listenning to Tournesol's "Kokotsu" a lot lately--does anyone
have info on this person (Tommy Gee ?) like discography, equipment used, etc?
I'm guessin from listenning to it that the filters are from sh101,
jx-something or juno 6, and some cheap cv analog, and a sampler. The
music I find very soulful and moody, yet kinda crunchy and a good use of
non-analogue waveforms (good digital pads/filtered). I highly reccomend
this to idm'ers, though I don't buy much stuff, I'd say it is between
Amorphous Androgynous (minus 75% of the ambient noises, birds, whales,
and whatnot) and Autechre, though the filtery digi-pads remind me of
Pentatonik, though the programming is not so... layered... and song-like.
I love the weird/backwards-sounding choir voices on "electric church" and
the kinda art-prog-rock way it just opens and closes with that 'theme'.
